My Makeup Anti-Haul!

Hello guys and welcome back to my blog, I'm stuck indoors today with the rain so I thought I'd write a few posts and I've been seeing this floating around Youtube about Anti Hauls and I loved the idea so i'm going to do my own.

Now this isn't hating on certain brands I do actually have loads of other products from these brands just these new releases didn't appeal to me and i'll explain each reason for each product!

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Palette:

I honestly just don't like the layout of this palette I feel like it would be too awkward to use and its all shimmer shades so quite impractical for travelling as I love and need some sort of matte shade in my look.. There's no word on a release date yet but I just think I'm gonna skip this one!

Two Faced White Chocolate Bar Palette:

Again I really don't like the look of this palette I think none of the colours in this palette go really well together and its abit bland looking. I do like Two Faced palettes I love the Sweet Peach Palette this one just doesn't do it for me..

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette:

This is another one I really don't want to try it's waaay to expensive for what it is. €75 for a palette is insane and it's a pretty basic one at that. The colours do look nice but could easily pick up a similar palette for cheaper.

KKW Beauty:

Being honest, I was a little disappointed with Kim Kardashians makeup line. Her Contour sticks were way too overpriced with such little product in them and then here contour kit just didn't appeal to me either there's so much better out there. Also the shipping and customs charges just to even get it to me in little old Ireland makes it twice as expensive! Honestly Kat Von D contour kit is my favourite contour palette I own..

MAC Roller Wheel Liquid Liner:

I've seen beauty bloggers raving about this one but I think it looks abit gimicky being honest i've seen a few youtubers using this and they've all said its quite difficult to use. It's €21 euro and I think i'll pass on this one too, I love the Inglot Gel Liner in 77.

So that's my Anti- Haul guys hoped you enjoyed it, These are all products that just don't appeal to me whatsoever and I wont be spending my hard earned money on!

The Dangers of Fake Makeup!

Hello and welcome back to my blog, today I thought i'd do something a little different and talk about the dangers of buying fake makeup. I've seen so many posts on Facebook, Ali Express and Ebay the last few weeks of people selling 'High Quality Fakes' and I really want to make people aware of the dangers of using it.
It's really been bothering me lately that people think they are saving so much money but what they don't know is they are opening themselves to serious health risks.

Brands that usually have the most fake products floating around are MAC, Urban Decay, Kylie Cosmetics etc. But that doesn't mean there isn't fake of any other brand these are just the most common.

Ingredients:

Some of the ingredients that have been found in these products include some horrifying findings. These include such toxic chemicals like:
  • Lead
  • Rat Poison
  • Urine
  • Mercury
  • Arsenic
  • Bacteria
  • Vermin droppings
  • Toxins
  • E. Coli
  • Aluminum
  • Paint Stripper
  •  and many many more

Being exposed to these ingredients can lead to some serious health issues like:
  • Eye Inections
  • Chemical Burns
  • Allergic Reactions
  • Rashes, lumps skin irritations
  • Kidney failure, stomach infections/ulcers
  • Blindness

Regulations:

These 'labs' (and i'm saying lab very loosely) have no health and safety codes, no sanitary procedures or regulation standards they have to follow. I'm going to include some pictures from the Daily Mail of what these 'Labs' look like.

Now this is what makeup labs with proper health and safety codes look like...

Like you can clearly see the difference! Personally with me I would never want to put ANYTHING on my face that comes from those first two pictures. You do not know what your exposing yourself to. I feel so strongly on this especially makeup artists who use fake makeup on clients thinking they are saving money. You are not. Period! In the end you are damaging your clients health and YOUR reputation.

If you are reading this as a client just be aware i'm not saying all makeup artists do but there are one or two I've seen anyways looking for advice on Facebook regarding fake products so be aware if you feel they are using fake products, ask them, check them out and reviews before you book.

Packaging:

Its hard to tell the difference sometimes between the real and the fake I understand that but there are ways to tell. First of all be weary if you aren't buying it from a reputable distributor it's more than likely fake.
By Reputable Distributor I mean sites like Debenhams, Brown Thomas, Cult Beauty, Beauty Bay, Cloud 10 the list goes on, that are genuine and selling genuine goods.
Take for example Kylie Cosmetics: Kylie ONLY sells from her own website, nowhere else! I'm stressing that point, yet there are hundreds of people and pages selling 'Kylie products' they aren't real.

How to tell between Real or Fake Packaging:

First of all a little bit of common sense and I'm not saying that being mean. Do your research on what your buying. If you know a Naked Palette is usually €47 and someones selling you one for €20 common sense would tell you that's going to be fake.

You can always tell buy the packing if you look closely.

  • Colour of the box being slightly off or darker
  • Sticker labeling instead of usually printed on the box
  • Product bigger / or smaller than the real
  • Cheap casings. You can usually feel the weight in a real product

Just please be aware and take your time. Research and don't expose yourselves to these dangers!

I'm going to post a few examples from Facebook Marketplace its LOADED with fakes:

This was just from today scrolling through I didn't even have to search these. I really just wanted to highlight this issue for everyone especially young girls.

Some sellers will have like 'High Quality Dupes' or 'Replicas' in the post.  They are NOT.

Honestly if you want something with similar colours but can't afford the higher end ones brands like makeup revolution, essence, catrice and all drugstore brands usually do cheaper similar versions. Makeup Revolution is great for proper dupes of products! You only get one skin..

So Please ladies, be careful!!

Until next time,

My Makeup Wishlist

Hey gals and welcome back to my blog, today I was just thinking about what I should blog about this week and I thought I would do a post on all the makeup I really want to pick up and try..

There has been so many new releases in the beauty industry lately that I'm DYING to try. Knowing me I will more than likely pick up most of this haha its killing me as all the american brands are finding their way over to little old Ireland and I'm going to be broke.

Kat Von D, Zoeva, Huda Beauty, Fenty beauty and ELF cosmetics are just some that have launched in Ireland..

1. Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

This palette looks gorgeous, I've been holding out on it because I didn't really like the smoky palette after all the hype around that one but I think I'm gonna get this one I love warm shadows..

2. Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Palette

This is also another gorgeous palette the only thing throwing me with this one is it's €65 and it's getting such mixed reviews so I'm abit on the fence with this one yet it might stay  on the wishlist for abit longer!

3. Huda Beauty Foundation

Image result for huda beauty foundation

The huda beauty faux filter foundation looks absolutely fab, there is a waiting list of 30,000 people on Sephora alone so I hope in Ireland it's a little easier accessible, there is 30 shades so there is something for everyone. Huda Beauty is now available in Brown Thomas!

4. Fenty Beauty Foundation

Image result for fenty beauty foundt

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna I think took the beauty industry by storm when she realeased a full collection including a foundation range with over 40 shades. Everyone has been raving about this one so I do really want to try it the only thing is this apparently oxidises really badly on the skin. If you want to see reviews on this I might pick it up :)

5. Kylie Cosmetics Wet Set

Image result for kylie cosmetics wet set

This was from Kylies Vacation collection and to be honest it's the only thing from the collection I liked the look off, I hate ordering from Kylie Cosmetics as I always get causer with customs of like €30 so it works out too expensive, but I do think I'd happily get caught for this one. The only thing is it's limited edition and gone from her website so I hope she adds it back as she usually does in a few months time.

6. Jacylin Hill X Morphe Palette

This palette looks absolutely stunning and it's finally been released to all of us in Europe from Beauty Bay. Beauty Bay saved the day again! The first drop of this palette had a waiting list of over 40,000 people. I did actually manage to pick this up on the second release and its on its way.. exciting!

7. ZOEVA Brush Set

These brushes look stunning, I personally just can't decide which set I want. I have an eye brush from Zoeva and the quality of it is unreal. ZOEVA is now available in Arnotts and I do think its coming to Brown Thomas aswell.. Love that we are finally getting Amercian brands!

So that's all guys of what makeup has caught my eye in the beauty industry at the moment there have been some stunning releases and some products too which I won't be buying either... Stay tuned for my next blog post for that one.

Hope everyone is staying safe during Hurricane Ophelia.
