Dewy Skin: Get That Summer Time Glow!

Hello ladies and welcome back to my blog, with the nice weather the past few days and the summer just around the corner I thought I'd do a post on how to get that fresh dewy glowy skin we all crave during the summer. So I'm going to share a few tips to give you that dewy look!

1. Primer

Primer is essential for creating an even base for your makeup to last all day and stops it sliding off by the end of the day. So first of all when choosing your primer when seeking that gorgeous dewy look go for something with Illuminating, Luminizing etc. Some products that will give your skin this gorgeous glow is Mac Strobe Cream or a cheaper alternative is Flormar Double Radiance Primer.  You can apply these to the skin alone or mix into your foundation.

You can also mix a small pump of Ice Goddess By Cocoa Brown into your foundation for a gorgeous icy glow!

2. Foundation   

Personally when your applying foundation and you don't own a foundation that has dewy properties your favourite foundation will do the exact same job. As Youtube queen Nikkie Tutorials says she also likes using any matte foundation and make her skin have that gorgeous glow by highlighters etc. It is completely up to you what finish or foundation you use. 

3. Highlighter

You can use highlighter to create that dewy finish by highlighting the tops of your cheekbones, your browbone, lightly in the center of your forehead, top of your cupids bow (this will make your lips look fuller), down the nose and tip of the nose.

Personally I like to place a small bit of highlighter just above the eyebrow and bring it around in a small 'C' Shape to the cheekbones.

One highlighter I just adore for creating dewy skin is the 'MaryLou- Manizer' by the Balm. It give an unbelievable glow to the skin, it doesn't create texture on the skin or emphases pores like some highlights can do, it is hands down one of the best highlighters I have in my collection. €21.50



A cheaper alternative is the Catrice Cosmetics High glow in 'Light Infusion'. Only €5.50

4.Setting Spray 

If you really want to have that intense glow after all of these steps and lock in that summer shine what you can do is use a dewy setting spray just to finish the look. One I love is the NYX 'Dewy Setting Spray' this is cheap as chips it is €10 and it gives a gorgeous finish to your makeup.

Another trick is spray your face with Fix+ by MAC just over your highlight to intensify it that bit more..
